Stackd ("the app", "we", "us") is a personal budgeting app. This policy explains what data the app handles and how. Stackd is designed to be local-first: your financial information is stored on your own device, not on our servers.
The following is saved only in local storage on your device and is never transmitted to us:
We do not have a server that receives, stores, or can access this data. If you uninstall the app or use Settings → Clear all data, this information is permanently removed from your device.
When you choose to use an AI feature, the app sends a summary of your financial data (such as spending totals and top categories) and your typed question to Anthropic, PBC, which operates the Claude AI model that generates the response. This only happens when you actively use an AI feature.
If you never use the AI features, no financial data leaves your device.
When you import a CSV or spreadsheet, the file is read and parsed on your device. The file contents are not uploaded to us. (If the file has low-quality column headers and you have AI enabled, a small sample of rows may be sent to Anthropic to help detect columns — see Section 2.)
If you choose to enter your name and email on the optional interest form, those details are currently saved only on your device and are not transmitted to us.
| Permission / access | Why |
|---|---|
| File picker | So you can select a CSV/spreadsheet to import. We only read the file you choose. |
| Network / internet | Only to call the Anthropic AI API when you use an AI feature. |
Stackd is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country) and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Your data is stored within the app's private storage on your device. AI requests are sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
